I am a full-time mother, part-time teacher and amateur interior designer. I regularly bore my husband with ideas for our home; Christmas and Easter decorations, coordinating parties for our sons, dinner parties and so on – so I thought I would write a blog instead to give them all some peace and quiet to build Lego and play football!
I have always loved houses, homes and all beautifully designed interiors whether they be homes, cafés, hotels, bathrooms, restaurants; for me the way a restaurant has been designed is as important as the food it serves. If I see something that inspires me, I take photos of it or write it down in my ideas book and try incorporate it into our home or lives somehow! I have scrapbooks of cuttings from magazines, boxes of ribbons, fabrics and buttons all of which can be good sources of inspiration.
I love Shoreditch; a few months ago on a sunny Autumn Sunday morning, my husband and I had brunch in Dishoom, a fantastic Bombay café, full of inspiration for both entertaining and interiors. We then walked from to Columbia Road Flower market in Hackney. I adored the vintage shops and the beautiful unpretentious flower stalls. In Shoreditch, I love the way the old and new, refined and edgy industrial as seem to be in harmony…something that I try to recreate in our home.

What a talented lady you are Catherine
Love to you all xxxx
